Excavation and build of new Simpsons Malt silo base

Background

NB Clark was engaged by Simpsons Malt to assist in enhancing the infrastructure at its Tweed Valley Maltings site with the addition of a new circular silo base. This will serve as a sturdy foundation to hold a new silo used to store the quality grains vital to the malting process.

Project scope

This £620k project saw NB Clark carry out mass excavation works before installing a new drainage system, building and fitting steel rebar and cages and completing the project with a fresh concrete pour.
