Work commences on new STACK fanzone in Newcastle

Published: 22nd January 2024

NB Clark is thrilled to announce its involvement in the build of the new St. James’ STACK fanzone in Newcastle, with our work commencing on the site’s groundwork and drainage.

The site on Strawberry Lane will be made up of a collection of shipping containers synonymous with the STACK brand. It will be home to a range of bars and independent food vendors arranged across two floors, all surrounding a central stage area perfect for match-day viewing.

NB Clark is working on behalf of Abbey Group to deliver a groundworks package that includes stripping and excavating the existing car park, installing new drainage across the full site, installing pad foundations for the new containers and completing the tarmac once the containers are in situ.

We are also carrying out some offsite drainage work which will provide a connection to the existing drainage system on Gallowgate as well as building a new substation for Northern Powergrid to install its equipment.

Phil Cuthbertson, commercial manager at NB Clark, expressed his enthusiasm, commenting, “It’s great to be involved in such a fantastic local project that will give Newcastle fans the perfect outlet to show their support. And as for the many Newcastle supporters on our NB Clark team, it’s a pleasure working with St. James’ Park as our backdrop.”

Due to be completed in May 2024, St. James’ STACK is set to enhance matchday experiences for home and away fans.

Howay the lads!
